AyokaGifts is pleased to present the 8th annual “Homowo-Afi" Friday-Saturday, August 5-6, 2011. & Friday August 5th, UNSUNG HEROES CELEBRATION (local small farmers) BB-Q & Fish Fry VENDORS SET-UP
Homowo-Afi is Ghana/Ghanaian Festival that celebrates Education, Community, Thanksgiving and Fun. The theme is “Uniting as One”. The festival will take place at 19024 NE 21st Street Gainesville, Fl. 32609 in the historic Monteocha Community from 9am-9pm and will feature African education, entertainment, food, vendors, and other exciting activities.
We will also celebrate 10 outstanding elders, who we are calling Unsung Heroes in our community. These people have dedicated their life to serving the Gainesville community. They have been like “the cock, the sun, and the ant,” always rising early to the cause, and busy empowering themselves and others for the future.
